Subsea Pipeline Scour Protection – Onslow Desalination Plant

Articulated Concrete Block Mats were installed for subsea pipeline scour protection as part of the marine intake and outfall infrastructure for the Onslow Desalination Plant.

The Concrete Block Mats provide hard-armour protection around the subsea pipeline infrastructure, helping protect the seabed against erosion and scour.

PROJECT BACKGROUND & CLIENT:

Austral Construction delivered the marine intake and outfall pipeline infrastructure for Water Corporation’s Onslow Desalination Plant.

As part of the offshore works, Australian Concrete Mats supplied Articulated Concrete Block Mats for subsea pipeline scour protection.

The mats were installed underwater using specialist marine construction and dive teams, providing an articulated hard-armour system for pipeline protection and seabed erosion and scour control.

This project demonstrates the use of Articulated Concrete Block Mats for subsea pipelines, desalination intake and outfall infrastructure and other marine and coastal applications.
