PROJECT DETAILS:

Existing track was impassible with tractor without dangerously slipping. Mats were laid for wheel traction and run off drain beside track to minimise erosion from runoff in the future.

After the record breaking floods in Lismore 2022 this driveway, like most of the ones in the district faced unprecedented damage – The run off drain and road surface needed repairing and the client chose flexible concrete mats to use as the erosion prevention and protection on the sloped drains beside the road and also as the driveway surface.

FLEXIBLE were used on the run off drain beside the road and FIRM mats on the track section Concrete Mats. Both with Non-Woven Geotextile Underlay on all mats. 

Steel Ubar Anchors were used anchor the mats along joins and edges.

Track section was top-filled with road base. The run off drain was left uncovered to slow the flow and capture sediment.

After a time lapse of several months where there was some heavy seasonal rainfall we revisited the project and took photos to show how the mats were working. Feedback from farmer was all positive. He could now drive up with normal vehicle without slipping on the loose gravel and mud.  The mats were also holding in the road base preventing runoff of the gravel.
