PROJECT:

Dog Park river bank access

LOCATION:

Apex Dog Park, Townsville City Council Q 4815

PROJECT STATS:

Mat: Flexible Concrete Erosion Mat
Underlay: Biodegradable Nutrition Geotextile Underlay
Anchoring: Trenched at top and U Bar Anchors

OUR REF: ACM 0211

PROJECT DETAILS:

Total 44sqm. 2.4 wide x 6m long flexible concrete mats were used with biodegradable Nutrition mat – the mats were anchored using a combination of trenching at the top, plus Galvanised steel UBar anchors at joins and overlaps. The site was top filled with soil and seeded.

The mats provided safe and stable access to the river for the pedestrians and their dogs, but also safe to drive on for the maintenance team to keep the grass trimmed.

UPDATE MAY 2023 – We visited the site a few years after installation, May 2023 pics demonstrate how mats are now fully vegetated and safe to maintain being able to mow right up to the waters edge. Also there is stable and safe access for park users to access the river.

OCT 2021 – “Very easy to install and the dogs love the access as you can see we cant get the grass to take because of the dog activity. I’m sure after the wet season that will be solved.”
(Note a few years after May 2023 pics demonstrate good vegetation uptake and easy maintenance.)
