PROJECT DETAILS:

Redland Research Facility at Cleveland QLD required a hard stable surface for their access in and out of the low level causeway to avoid the vehicles getting bogged in the muddy tracks coming into and out of the concrete causeway.  They needed safe access for council maintenance vehicles and workers.

Flexible concrete mats would help to address these issues.

4 x 10m rolls of Flexible Concrete Mats with Non-Woven Geotextile Underlay was laid onto the access coming into and out of the causeway.

Steel Ubar Anchors were used anchor the mats along joins and edges. These were pushed in by using both hammers and then the excavator to push in further.

Concrete mats were good solution as they provided,

  • Good drainage with permeable qualities
  • Hard armoured protection and stabilisation for vehicle and foot traffic,
  • Stabilisation for the sometimes boggy tracks and slippery gradients
  • Easily able to contour around the landscaped culverts, pipes, trees and rocks.
  • A sound and cost effective solution.
